How Emails Work
Veridien sends two families of email, and they behave differently on purpose.
Platform emails are Veridien-to-staff mail: sign-in codes, password resets, team invites, weekly reports, no-show alerts. They use a fixed Veridien design (a white header band with the wordmark and one light theme in every mail client) and are not customizable per property.
Guest emails are property-to-guest mail: booking confirmations, modifications and cancellations, check-in reminders, invoices, payment receipts, and review requests. These render in your property's branding from the Email Design Studio and are sent from your property's configured sender.
All email is delivered through Resend. Veridien renders each message to email-safe HTML (table layout, inlined styles, absolute-URL PNG images) so it displays correctly in Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and the rest. You do not need your own email provider account; delivery, bounces, and suppression are handled by the platform.
In the Email Design Studio you pick one theme: a preset or fully custom colors and fonts. From those five color tokens (background, card, text, secondary text, accent) Veridien automatically derives the opposite-scheme palette, so every guest email ships with both a light and a dark theme, applied deterministically:
- The light variant is the locked default: it's what every mail client renders normally, regardless of the reader's OS theme.
- The dark variant applies where dark mode is forced on the email. Outlook's dark mode repaints to your derived dark palette instead of Outlook's own guesswork. (The Gmail mobile app applies its own darkening, which the high-contrast palette is built to survive.)
- Colored accents (a brand blue or gold) carry across both schemes; neutral accents flip with the scheme so buttons and highlights stay readable.
The studio preview has a sun/moon toggle so you can check both variants of any email type before saving.
- Every guest email carries a small grey Powered by Veridien footer. It is theme-neutral, identical on light and dark, and not configurable.
- Automated messages state that they are automated; transactional guest emails come from your property's identity, never Veridien's.
- Scheduled emails (check-in reminders, weekly reports, scheduled report exports) are sent by background jobs on fixed schedules in your property's timezone.
